Day 104: First Weigh In Of 2011!!!

Why hello January!

Well, so far 2011 has been pretty good to me. I mean, I know we are only two days in, but if keeps going this way (aka nothing too catastrophic happening) it should be a pretty swell year! As far as weighing in goes, so far it’s not too shabby either! I lost 2.2 pounds in my short week! So now I’m down to 304.8 pounds, less than 5 pounds away from breaking 300. I’m so freakin’ stoked! Can I lose 4.8 pounds in 11 days? Stay tuned dear reader!

Lunch: After church, Megan and I went with some people from church to Chipotle to catch up from winter break. As you may recall, I should be the president of the Chipotle Fan Club, but today I was pretty disappointed. We split a vegetarian burrito, like we usually do, but they hardly put anything on the dad gum burrito! I’m no professor of burritology (but I should be) but there shouldn’t be more guacamole than rice on the burrito. I feel like we got gypped pretty bad. (Plus you know it’s small when someone trying to lose weight complains about the portion size. I mean really!) Anyways, for half of the pathetic burrito it was 7 points.

Snack: Since the burrito sucked, by around 3:00 I was pretty hungry again so I had some Kashi Cereal of Awesomeness which is only 4 points with milk.

Snack: The Sequel: Later, Megan and I decided to hit up Starbucks since we were both working on stuff. (I was working on my Fitblogger article for the 1oth! I’m so stoked!) I changed it up today and had a Iced Nonfat Caramel Macchiato which was only 4 points. Yum to the power of awesomeness.

Dinner: Luckily, dinner made up for lunch. Yesterday, we bought some wild salmon at Earth Fare so we made that. I love salmon so much. I lived in Alaska for a summer and that was pretty much all I ate. It was Heaven. Anyways, we sauteed some asparagus and mashed up some red potatoes with non fat sour cream. (I married the perfect woman.) That whole plate was only 11.5 points with a glass of milk, it took 30 minutes to cook, and only cost us $4.00 a person. Yeah you read this right. If this meal wasn’t the best case for cooking at home vs. eating out, I don’t know what is. I mean, even look at the difference between lunch and dinner today! The burrito was $3.20 a person and wasn’t near as much food. Just saying…

Exercise: We are trying to do this stupid Jillian Micheals Last Chance Workout video six times a week and it might be the end of me. Personally, I hate it (I would much rather play racquetball or run) but it’s a great muscle workout which is what I’m starting to really need. Anyways, I got 9 exercise points out of it. Hooray.

Snack: The Trilogy: Megan made use strawberry-banana shakes with frozen yogurt/ice cream blend after working out and it was amazing. It was 5 points.

So overall today, I’ve downed 31.5 points which is fine with me. See ya tomorrow.

Day 100: Week 15 Weigh In Day!

Ladies and Gentleman, it has finally happened. When I started this blog in September I weighed an astounding 357 pounds. Today, I woke up to this bad boy: 307 even. Meaning I have officially lost 50 pounds!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cannoli! I lost 50 pounds in a 100 days which means I lost like half a pound a day. I’m not one to be arrogant but I am really impressed with myself but I couldn’t have done it without my wife, my family and you, dear reader! Anyways, so I lost 2.6 pounds during our trip to Texas. It’s not a ton, but I didn’t gain any so that’s a big win definitely. Alright, let’s talk food (it feels like forever since I have said that!)

Breakfast: We didn’t have much in our pantry, but luckily we had a few waffles in the freezer so I had waffles and peanut butter. It was like eating an ol’ friend (that is suppose to be more sentimental than cannibalistic.) Anyways, 2 waffles and 2 tbs of pb was 8 points. (Notice how much nicer the pic is? Thank you Santa for the iPhone!!!!)

Lunch: So we made a grocery list and went to Wal-Mart to get the essentials (beans, rice, bananas. You know, the essentials.) After we got home, we prepared this awesome southwest style chicken soup that cooks in a crockpot for about 4 hours. I had to cut up a rotisserie chicken so I left the drumsticks and the wings to eat. It was severely disappointing, it was greasy and a little burnt. So that was 6 points of sadness. So then I decided to eat some leftover rice/veggie concoction that Megan made the other night. That, on the other hand, was awesome and filling. That was only 5 points so it made up for it.

Exercise: Since we (or I) didn’t work out as much as I should have during the trip, we thought we would get back in to exercising with baptism by fire: Jillian Michale’s Last Chance Workout. It was beastly. It felt good, but it was really rough. We got a new WW slider from from one or two programs back and it has been really helpful. It also has a different exercise points formula so there won’t be those ridiculously high exercise points like there use to be. According to this one, I still got 9 exercise points so that’s still pretty tight.

Dinner: After the soup was ready, we dove in and it was fantastic. It was awesome when my Dad made it and it was awesome when we made it so I guess it’s a pretty good recipe (I think that’s how it works.) Anyways, it was great and it was even better with even better with Jalapeno Tabasco which goes with anything. Two bowls later, it was 15 points and it was awesome.

Dessert: Megan got an awesome Ninja blender (as seen on TV!) so we gave it a try and made a strawberry banana smoothie. The Ninja delivered and made one heck of a smoothie plus it was only 5 points so a pretty good dessert.

So today I had 39 points which is high but with the exercise point I was at 30 points so that will work. See ya tomorrow.

Day 84: Weigh In Day!

Seasons Greetings!

I hope everyone had a great Sunday! (Other than the Cowboys losing in a close one to the Eagles.) So I was hoping to break the 50 pound mark today but I guess that was a little over ambitious. Regardless, it was a pretty good week. I lost 2 pounds! Pretty tight yo! So now I’m at 310.6 which is still ridiculous to me! In Mid-September I was pushing 360 and now I’m knocking on the 290’s. It’s like I don’t even remember what life was like back then and I never will because I will never be back the that size ever again and you can take that to the bank. Here’s hoping that I will break 50 pounds next week (fingers crossed.)

Breakfast: Crystal, the college minister’s wife at our church (and a devout reader) brought these awesome cinnamon streusel muffins for the morning class. I usually eat before church but we were in a bit of a rush this morning. I might have to skip breakfast more ofter because they were delicious! I looked it up and it was 4 points.

Lunch: So we have unintentionally started a Sunday lunch tradition: Creamy Stovetop Mac n’ Cheese with broccoli. It was sooooooo good. For a serving and a half of the mac and cheese was only 9 points which is so filling (not to mention steamed broccoli is epic… yes, I said broccoli is epic. I am a boring fella.)

For a snack I had a orange for 1 point.

Dinner: We went out to buy a few more things before our trip so we decided to grab some dinner before hanging out with the college group. We saw a Subway that had a drive thru so we thought “how bad could be?” We were behind a lady who I’m pretty sure had never been to a Subway and thought the process of sandwich making was such a foreign concept. We lost our patience very quickly. So we ordered and drove up and the same lady was arguing with the cashier. It was quite the scene. Anyways we finally got through and the 8 point broodwich was delicious (did anyone get that reference?)

Dinner Part 2: When we got to the house, our friend Kyle (who does not live there) was making baked BBQ chicken. He has been really supportive and has really held me accountable especially at the beginning of the weight loss journey. Anyways, he is an awesome cook and the chicken was delicious. I had a breast and a drumstick so it was 10 points which was totally worth it.

So today I got to 32 points which makes sense because I felt nice and content all day. See ya tomorrow.

Day 77: Weigh In Day Awesomeness!!!!!

So this week was über stressful (with a capital umlaut) and I’m glad it’s over. With that, I thought this I was going to gain a crapton back which would suck. Luckily, this week was a little better than I thought: I lost 2.2 pounds! I’m really stoked about it! So now I’m at 312.6 and I have lost a total of 44.4 pounds since September which is just insane. It’s definitely more than I have ever lost in a single attempt. I can’t believe I’m that close to 50 pounds! I know I have a lot more to go, but it’s coming off slowly but surely! Like I said yesterday, I’m really starting to see the difference which is really encouraging. Alright, on to food.

Breakfast: Let the week of three squares commence! I made scrambled eggs and bacon before church which was just delicious. That’s really all that needs to be said about that. It was about 8 points so not too shabby.

Lunch: After an awesome church service, we had to have a quick lunch because Megan had a thing at 2:00, so we hit up Subway to go. We had the “Megan Classic” (The same sub she has had since High School) which is ham and cheese with other awesome things. Since we just split a $5 foot long, we had some chips and soda at home, we skipped the combos and ate at home. The sandwich was 6 points and our baked sour cream and cheese lays were only 2 points (which is pretty awesome.) Pretty awesome lunch.

Exercise: Matt and I played racquetball and I was really pooped after. We hadn’t play since before Thanksgiving break, but it was a lot of fun and since this is finals week, we are going to try to play a few times more. It was 15 exercise points which is also pretty awesome.

Snack: I had some watermelon after racquetballin’ it up (1 point!) and some fat free cheez its (which is only 3 points for 29 crackers… or cheese things… or its?)

Dinner: After some cardio workout awesomeness, Megan made my new favorite low fat dish: Creamy Stovetop Mac and Cheese with broccoli. Since I was starving, I had two super heaping helpings with a ton of broccoli. It was 12 points and it was super duper delicious.

After dinner, Megan and I heard about this facebook promotion that the first 50 people in front of the FSU library got an invite to a special invitation only shindig at the new Chipotle the night before they open! Did I mention free burritos? Super stoked. So I got that working for me. This is us waiting in line but the camera on my phone sucks but awe well.

Today I got to 32 points even so that works out pretty well. See ya tomorrow.

Day 70: Post Thanksgiving Weigh In EEEEEK

So one of my goals this month was to not gain any weight during the week of Thanksgiving. This time of the year has always been hard on me because I love to eat. (I still do.) But I especially love to eat things that only come around this time of the year so I would try to gorge myself on it to get my quota. It was things like Deep Fried Turkey (this was the first year in about 7 years that we didn’t have it,) all these delicious chocolate creations my mom would make and eggnog. This list could go on and on but I’ll just get hungry. Anyways, after the wedding fiasco, I was really worried about how I would finish out the year. Would I have enough self control? Would I actually lose any weight? Would it even be possible to break the 300 mark by January? This week gave me the confidence and comfort to know that I can do anything I make a priority and if I do give in and indulge a little bit, that’s okay because you shouldn’t be completely miserable during your weight loss journey. If you are then what’s the point?

With that being said, obviously everything must be done in moderation and that is what I found is the key to success this week. When we went out to eat with my family, I tried to be smart with what I ate and I really listened to my body. If I was content, I would stop. If there was food on my plate, that’s okay. If I wasn’t hungry at a meal, I wouldn’t try to shove anything down my throat. I know these might sound like simple things for some people, but other people know exactly what I am talking about and how hard these things can be. By doing these things, Megan and I both put up great numbers. In fact, I haven’t lost this much weight since week one. This week, the week where America celebrates gluttony as it’s national past time, I lost 4.8 pounds!!! Holla! I have officially karate chopped the 40 pound mark. I currently weigh 314.8 so I have to lose a little more than 2.1 pounds a week to break 300 by my birthday. Although I’m pretty stoked about how I did, I am really really really proud of Megan. She lost 3.8 pounds this week!!! I’m so proud of her! So at this point, I am 75 points away from my 100 pound goal!

Lunch: (I skipped breakfast because of time, I regretted it half way through church.) When I was looking for Thanksgiving recipes, I came across this one for Creamy Stovetop Macaroni and Cheese. Like the majority of college students and poor people in the world, Mac ‘n Cheese was a staple in our household before the weight loss journey. One time Megan made a Joy of Cooking macaroni bake recipe that called for a can of condensed milk and an entire block of cheddar cheese. I remember eating it and just feeling disgusting while eating but I couldn’t stop. I then knew I had a problem. Anyways, we paired it with some broccoli and it was really filling! This picture here was 6 points of macaroni so it’s definitely a good deal points wise! I had seconds (half a serving) and a glass of milk so lunch was 16 points. Yum to the power of divine.

Snack: After such a big lunch, we both went in to hibernation mode and when we snapped out of it, we decided to get some fro-yo at Hiro’s before we hit the books. I had some taro with strawberries and oreo. It was really good and the sugar rush I really needed. It was about 6 points so that works for me.

Dinner: There was plenty of mac n’ cheese left so I had some more deliciousness and a little bit of turkey. It hit the spot. Dinner was 10 points. As you can tell, I was pretty stoked about it.

So today I am at 32 points but I have alot of articles to read for a big paper I am writing so I am going to do some snacking at some point. Do you (yes you) have any low cal snacking suggestions? At this point, coffee isn’t doing the trick (we are on pot No.2 already tonight. Thank goodness it’s no points!) See ya tomorrow.

Day 63: The Ballad of My 10th Weigh In Day!

This is going to be an awesome week. How can you not love Thanksgiving? I love this time of the year so much, but I have never experienced it while being healthy so this is going to be quite a test. Bring it on yo!

If you recall last week, I had a really rough time at the wedding taking my eyes off the prize and focusing on a beautiful chocolate fountain. Well, I worked hard this week to try to make up what I didn’t lose last week and I think I did okay. I lost -3.6 this week! I’m really happy with it! What could make me happier? Um.. I don’t know, maybe being in the 310’s for the first time since my freshman year of high school!!!! It’s such an awesome feeling when you realize that you have found a system that works for you and works so well. What’s even cooler is that I am only 2.6 pounds away from being at the 40 pound mark (I can’t believe it as I just typed that!) So right now I am at 319.6 and I am 79.8 pounds away from my goal.

Breakfast: Didn’t happen. Yikes.

Lunch: After church, we went to Tijuana Flats and had their super awesome burritos. We had a BOGO coupon so it was super awesome cheap too! I had the Chicken and Black Bean burrito on a Wheat Tortilla with fat free sour cream and low fat cheese. The burrito looks small in this picture, but I was so stuffed after lunch. They pack it in there. I just emptied the contents of the burrito and put it on my chips to make nachos. So good, and the burrito and chips was 14 points.

So after lunch, we drove around and did some clothes window shopping. We went to Old Navy and I tried on a few things. It nice to actually to be a chooser and not a beggar while clothes shopping again. There was a time when if it fit, I bought it because it was slim pickens. I got a nice V-neck t-shirt for like 4 bucks. Then we went to Dillard’s which is where I buy most of my nice clothes because they have a pretty good Big and Tall section. One of the last times I was shopped there it was August and I needed to buy a pair of khakis. I had a hard time trying to find my size (which was a pretty high number. There are 3 numbers I will probably never say on this blog: my GRE score, my social security number, or my pant size (that is until it is much lower.)) Anyways, I just remember all of the frustration and the internal embarrassment of walking out of the fitting room time and time again trying to find a bigger size, trying on pair after pair of pants with them being too tight. Today, I tried on a pair that are 6 sizes smaller than the pair of pants I bought that day. They fit, maybe not perfectly, but the button didn’t shoot off killing an old women while I put them on. They fit. That’s when I realized I’m actually doing it. This is actually working. So after that awesome experience, we went and registered for the Turkey Trot and the shirt sizes on the registration form only went up to a XL but when they got there they had XXL’s so that was pretty cool. The shirt is legit. It’s a Under Amour-like long sleeve and it’s pretty light. I actually almost wore it to racquetball today it was that comfortable. Do you like my action pose?

Dinner: There are some days where I think I could become a vegetarian, then there are meals like this… We got some Turkey brats from Wal-Mart (as if we aren’t going to have enough turkey this week…) and we bought this huge vat of sauerkraut which will probably last longer than me because it was the only size. Anyways, the brats were only 3 points and they were really good. Plus sauerkraut is only 10 calories for a 1/4 cup! The buns were 3 points because we got white instead of whole wheat (oops.) I had the two legit brats pictured and then had one more with no bun. (Of course it came in a pack of 5 so we had an extra one so I took one for the team. ) It was a 15 point dinner which was so worth it for how good of a dinner it was.

Racquetball: Well I figured since tonight was a Blue Moon, I would have a good chance at winning. I got really really close 2 games, but I couldn’t pull out the W (I would make a terrible closer pitcher.) It earned about 13 exercise points.

So today I had only 29 points which is pretty awesome for how well I ate. See ya tomorrow.

Weigh in Day 57

It feels like it has been forever and I have missed you (yes you.)

So it felt like after my invigorating post on Saturday, it went downhill fast in an insane, high caloric downward fashion. Up until that point, I had done pretty well with my eating. Granted I didn’t know any of the points, but I did what I could to keep my portions down. Then we went to the wedding. Oh boy. All day I was a runner, getting and doing anything that was asked from me. It was stressful, but the wedding went of without a hitch, except the DJ never showed up so I got to DJ and MC which was really tight. Anyways, by the time the wedding rolled around I was in this stressful eating mode. I went overboard on with the chocolate fountain. If you could dip it in chocolate I would eat it. The dinner was Christmas dinner with ham and the whole shebang. I ate a lot and didn’t feel bad about it. I also drank regular soda. One half of my brain was like “this is so delicious” and the other half (the skinny half) was like “what is wrong with you!?! You’re losing all the ground you made this week.” Even after feeling that way, after the wedding, we went and ate at Bubba Gump’s and had fried shrimp. I was sick, I felt disgusting. Not from being such a Fatty, I literally got sick and was sick up until the morning. So here comes the moral of the story: on Thursday I weighed and I was down to 320.6. I was set to break out of the 320’s for the fist time in a loooooooong time. I weighed this morning and I was at 324.2. Although I lost .4 pounds from last week, I completed undid everything I had worked for all week. I have been really mad at myself all day and frankly all weekend but I am trying to put it behind me and look forward to this week.

So here we are. A new day,a new week, and a new set of points. Here we go.

Breakfast: After that fiasco, I made some eggs and toast. Not too shabby and 5 points so that will work.

Lunch: All day I’ve been working on this paper so we took a break to buy a bigger coffee maker (we have a Keurig which we love but we need more coffee at this point in the semester.) We also got some lunch and I went with Amy’s Tamale Verde which, if you haven’t tried, the best frozen and filling meal I have ever had. It was 9 points and then I added some chips and this new World Table salsa we bought which was 3 points for the chips. It was good that I ate something so filling for lunch because we didn’t have dinner until 10:30. (Ah the joys of a super busy schedule.)

Dinner: I made us our new favorite staple: black beans and cilantro rice burritos. For the first time making it, I have to say it was pretty good. For two burritos with sour cream and a few chips it was 9 points. It really hit the spot because we were starving at that point. Both of us have working since we got up the morning.

So overall I’m at 26 points. I’m not hungry at all (probably because I drank like 8 cups of water) so it’s all good. It’s good to be back. See ya tomorrow.

Day 52: Weigh In Day!!!!

This morning I woke up feeling pretty good about the weigh in. I was hoping for a good number… and all that treadmilling and racquetballing paid off. I lost 3 pounds this week! Legit. I was especially stoked since I was bad 2 days last week. Regardless, I feel good and I think I’ll be able to break 320 soon! So right now I’m at 324.6 which means I’m 83.8 pounds away from my 100 pound goal. This means that my daily point intake is down to 32 points instead of 33. I know it’s just a point but I rely on that little guy a lot. (For those playing at home… I am doing an older WW system. With the new system, I would have something like 44 points which is a lot of food.)

Breakfast: Right after church, walked in to our icebox of a house and changed in to sweats (which are slowly becoming the only pants that fit. My jeans fall off a lot now. I really need to reach that 50 mile goal so I can get some new jeans!) Anyways, I knew lunch was going to take a while so we both had a bowl of cereal. I had Kashi Autumn Wheat with a 1/2 cup of milk which was 4 points. I really need to dedicate more points to milk. I miss it in my diet.

Lunch: Like I just said, lunch was going to take a while because we had Turkey Burgers (hooray for delicious things!)  The fries were too crispy because I didn’t cut the potatoes thick enough, but I did remember to add the olive oil unlike last time! For a 9 point meal, it was awesome.

Exercise: This afternoon, Matt and I played some racquetball. Again, I was on the doorstep of winning twice and I couldn’t pull out the W. I don’t know if I have some mental block or something but it has always seemed like anytime something got close, I would crack under the pressure. It’s really annoying because I just kept making simple mistakes like missing the ball on easy shots. I need to work on that. Anyways, that was around 16 exercise points.

Dinner: When Megan first woke up this morning, she prepped and put all the ingredients for Slow-Cook Tuscan Sausage and Bean Soup in the crock pot. So after I got home from the racquetball bloodbath, I got to finally enjoy the soup that was driving my nostrils crazy all day. It was fantastic and perfect for such a cold day! With 2 pieces of bread and 2 bowls of soup it was a 10 point dinner was was totally worth it. Oh, and if my wife couldn’t get any awesome-er, she took these pictures for me to save time. She’s a keeper.

Snack: After our men’s bible study tonight, we went to Moe’s, this sub par burrito place. Although their burritos suck, they have an awesome salsa bar. I ate about a 1/3 of a basket of chips, which was around 6 points (a whole basket, like what comes with chips and queso, is bad… like 750 calories and 40 grams of fat bad.) Instead of eating any queso, I attacked their salsa bar like a Tasmanian Devil on a rotting wombat carcass. 9 cups of salsa later, I was ready to bounce. Then we played football and I ran around and at one point: threw off my shirt… in 40 degree weather. I’m awesome like that.

So for the first day in the new WW bracket I did pretty well. I came to a total of 29 points which works because I might be a little off on the chips. Regardless, a good start to what I hope will be a good week. Speaking of which, does any body have any tips for running on the beach? See ya tomorrow.

Day 46 Special Monday Weigh In Edition

November? Seriously? Holy Schnikes.

So today is a rare Monday weigh in (I say rare, but it’s going to happen again in a few weeks.) But here we go… I lost 2.6 pounds this week! I’m bittersweetly stoked about it because I’m .6 away from the 30 pound mark. I was there when I weighed in on Thursday but then I gained .4 pound back at Disney World. Awe well, I’m going to lose more and then some this week (that’s the plan at least!!!!) So I am at 327.6 which is still really awesome since a month and a half ago I was approaching 360. As of now, I’m 86.8 pounds away from my 100 pound goal. I’m getting there slowly but surely!

Lunch: Like most Mondays, I accidentally slept in (I love having an afternoon class) and I met up with Megan at Subway for some lunch. I haven’t been to subway since we moved here (so since July. Before the weight loss we didn’t have a reason to go to Subway because they have Jimmy John’s here which is better subs but worse for you.) Anyways, I had the 6″ black forrest ham with lite mayo, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and vinegar. This is Megan’s favorite sub and she put me on to it last year. It’s now my favorite non-meatball sub at Subway :). They also have a really nice sandwich builder on their website (if you can find it) and the sub was 8 points so not too bad for a light lunch.

Snack: We kept with our Monday afternoon tradition and went to Starbucks to study/write a blog/act like we’re cool because we are college students at a Starbucks/get closer to becoming mayor of the Tennessee St. Starbucks/listen to the most painful job interview a table over. I’m been doing research for a research paper for my Hispanic Marketing class about Hispanic usage of social media (if you are Hispanic and have a blog/facebook/twitter/myspace account (just kidding about the last one) let’s talk.) Anyways, I had the usual Iced Chai Tea latte (the girl who works there knew what I was going to get which sometimes is good but it was definitely bad that back in the day this lady at Taco Bueno knew my name and what I got) but this time I got a venti because I needed the caffeine, but I didn’t need the sugar. Tough trade off. The venti was 6 points which is only 2 points more than the grande. Hi Ho. (Sorry for all of the parentheses and slashes in this paragraph. I have no clue what came over me.)

Dinner: The thing I hate about Mondays is that we don’t get home sometimes until after 7 like today after my class we did our grocery shopping for the week. Luckily we went to Publix which takes an eighth of the time compared to Wal-Mart. Regardless, we got home around 7:30 and I started to make the super awesome turkey burgers. The fries take about an hour so when I was prepping them I had a Publix Honey Almond yogurt which wasn’t bad but it was 2 points. So the burgers (6 points) turned out really well which made me happy because the last time I made them they kept falling apart. The fries were okay, except you are suppose to coat them in olive oil and I didn’t so they ended up being tasty shards of glass. Without the oil they were only 2 points.

So right now, I’m at 24 points so I think I’m going to eat some fruit and other healthy things to try to offset this weekend. I really need to go hit up the gym. I keep talking about and it needs to happen. What’s your favorite thing to do at the gym? See ya tomorrow.

Day 38: Weigh In Super Fantasticness!!!!!!

Sorry my faithful readers (especially David Schubert) for the last 3 posts coming out really late. It’s been one of those weeks. I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen anymore. Alright, down to business.

I lost 3.4 pounds this week! So I’m now at 330.2!!! I was super stoked. I’ve been on a hot streak of weight loss and I’m hoping to keep it going! So far, I’ve lost 26.8 pounds (legit) and I am 89.4 pounds away from my 100 pound goal!!!! Right now, going off my past averages, the goal of breaking 300 by my birthday in January is almost within reach.

Breakfast: I made some toast (2 points) 1/2 a serving of peanut butter (2.5) and 1/2 a tsp of honey. This whole time that I have been measuring out my honey I have been using 1/2 tsp but the serving is 1 tablespoon so really what I have been counting 1 point is more like .5 point if that. That was a rare, positive surprise.

Lunch: After church, we went to Panera Bread. I was really impressed when we walked in and they had the calories listed on the menu! Legit. Megan and I split the Artichoke Turkey (half was 8 points. Ouch.) and I has the Cream of Chicken with Wild Rice (8 points) and the side baguette was 3 points. I definitely should have gotten the Tortilla Soup (Megan had it and it was amazing and only 4 points) instead of something cream based. The baguette was so worth it because it was soft and delicious (not to mention it was 3 times the size of an Olive Garden breadstick which is also 3 points sadly.) It was the first time in a while that we had white bread so it was a nice treat, but very high in points.

Exercise: I went and played Matt in racquetball this afternoon. I didn’t really get going until around game 3 so I got schooled the first few games. Regardless, it was a blast.

Dinner: I made Uncle Jim’s Fantastic Chili and it was just 5 points. As always, it was great.

Dessert: I went out with some friends from my Sunday night small group and we went to Hiro’s (I think I should just work there since I’m there all the time…) I had the classic Taro with Strawberry and Sugar Cone which was 4 points. So good.

Today I totaled out at 33 points. That will work! See ya tomorrow.
