Day 54 Galore!

Tuesdays are Legit. Why?? I don’t know.

Since we don’t have class on Thursday, I have officially started my 5 day weekend. So awesome, I have a lot to do, but so awesome.

Breakfast: Before I hopped on the bus to go run at Leach, I grabbed 2 waffles with no peanut butter since we are out 🙁 but luckily my parents are bringing some organic PB from my favorite grocery store in Texas (H-E-B. So awesome.) Those 3 points held me over pretty well. Waffles are awesome. Let’s just leave it at that.

Exercise: I really needed to get some running in for #NovGTD so before class I went and treadmilled it up. I decided to try out my 5K time to see where I was at. I ran 3.1 miles in 43:15 which was about 4 minutes slower than my 5K in April, but I still a few weeks to get that number down. Plus I feel like I run faster on the ground. Does anyone else notice that?

Lunch: In keeping with Unofficial Healthy Choice Steamers Week, I “made” the Red Pepper Chicken Alfredo. Unlike yesterday, I was actually able to sit down and enjoy it. Also unlike yesterday, there was plenty of chicken in it and the alfredo was very tasty. I would add some pepper to it for a little more flavor because even though it is a meal, it’s still a frozen diet meal. Anywho, this meal was only 5 points which was really worth it. We also had some of that 6 grain bread leftover from Sunday so I chowed down on that which was 2 points and then a behemoth of a honeycrisp apple which was also 2 points.

Dinner: We decided to take a look at drive around town and to check out the Turkey Trot Track on the other side of town (is it just me, or does the race actually look like a Turkey? I wonder if that was intentional..) Luckily, there weren’t too many hills or severe elevation changes and it’s in a beautiful community so we are both really stoked about it! So after we check that out, we drove around town and ended up at Tijuana Flats, a Mexican joint that we had heard nothing about. When we walked in, it looked like what I think Jerry Garcia’s dreams were like, so many murals with stuff hanging from the ceiling. It was pretty trippy. Anyways we took a look at the menu and they had some really great healthy options including Powerlite Options which were fat free sour cream and cheese. How awesome is that!?! Plus, they have an under 500 calorie portion of the menu. They also had a lot of facts about their food (as seen above) which is always impressive to me. I had the Veggie burrito with a side of chips and salsa. Are you ready for this? The meal total was only 11 points! It was really good and I want to go back already!

After we went to Tijuana Flats, we walked by Gold’s Gym to check out this Gold-Getter’s promotion where you social media (can that be a verb?) while you go there to train and work out. That also included 5 months free membership. I think they have already picked their 5 people, but I wrote on the Gold’s Gym Tallahasee’s Facebook mentioning my blog and to see if they might still consider me (if you are from Gold’s Gym and reading this, you should definitely give me a shot! I’ll make Gold’s Gym Tallahassee famous!!!) So we will see what happens there.

So far today, I’m at a whopping 23 points? Weird… plus I have some exercise point too so I’ll probably have some cereal here in a bit. See ya tomorrow.

Day 53: Monday Awesomeness

Понеделник, са за нещастници Google Translate it.

Woke up this to some stressful news in regards to our Focus Group. You see, when I fell asleep last night we had 7 participants, when I woke up, we had 3 (I should have just stayed up all night to avoid this.) Somehow, 4 people had dropped out all of the sudden. Luckily, we did some last minute recruiting and ended up with 8. It was a complete relief, but made for a stressful day, and consequently, some stressful eating. Oh joy…

Lunch: When we went grocery shopping this week these Healthy Choice Café Steamers were on sale so we each got a few since this week was going to be a little (and when I say a little I mean a lot) hectic. It’s one of those things where the food is in it’s own container and there is sauce at the bottom of a bigger container so when it’s done you just mix it in. I had the General Tso’s Spicy Chicken (“Ah, General Tso, you were a bloodthirsty foe, but your chicken is delectable!” Name that quote!) For inhaling it in a bout of stress-filled fury, I was really impressed with it. There are only 3 chunks of chicken but the vegetables and rice make up for it, and for 6 points it was a pretty sufficient meal… for any normal day. Today was not one of those days. After I was done, I was ready to tear in to something else like a Tasmanian Devil… wait, I’ve already used that analogy. Anyways, since I bought the good Publix multigrain waffles again, I made an 8 point wafflewhich and had a 2 point glass of milk. Bizarre lunch? Yes… yes it was.

In this time span, I got jacked to moderate by listening to Underoath (it’s a lot like how Dwight gets ready for a sales presentation) and by drinking a Low Carb Monster (the blue can) which are only 20 calories!!!! No points, just adrenaline.

Snack: After my moderating portion of the focus group, I was a little stressed because I was worried about what our professor was going to say about how we did. We had Halloween candy for the participants and in a stressful haste, I snagged (3) 3 Musketeers mini bars. I knew better and I’m usually really good about absolving, if you will, from little snacks like that, but I felt like I needed something so I caved. They were a point per mini so 3 points for a trinity of happiness was totally worth it at that point.

Dinner: After talking about Hot Pockets and other frozen products for 2 hours, I went home and had a frozen pizza. It was the first time we have had pizza since the great change and it was welcomed with open arms. We had the Kashi Mediterranean pizza and it only took 8 minutes to bake! Legit. For 4 slices (as pictured) it was 9 points which was AOK with me. I had 2 points worth of milk in my cup, then it spilled, so then I only had 1 point worth 🙂

Dessert: Megan has been feeling achy with a sore throat so we both thought she needed to go see a Doctor… Dr. Hiro’s that is!!! (#cheesyjoke) As a pick me up for Megan, and a celebration that I made it through my focus group, we went to Hiro’s for some FroYo even though it’s 50 outside. I got the usual Taro but before we went I did some homework and found out that Oreo’s are around 1 point so I added some on there this time with strawberries. It was really really good. For 5 points, I didn’t mind, although I probably won’t do it again.

So through all the silliness, today I came out to 34 points. 2 points over… meh. See ya tomorrow.

CONAN IS ON IN 29 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!

Day 52: Weigh In Day!!!!

This morning I woke up feeling pretty good about the weigh in. I was hoping for a good number… and all that treadmilling and racquetballing paid off. I lost 3 pounds this week! Legit. I was especially stoked since I was bad 2 days last week. Regardless, I feel good and I think I’ll be able to break 320 soon! So right now I’m at 324.6 which means I’m 83.8 pounds away from my 100 pound goal. This means that my daily point intake is down to 32 points instead of 33. I know it’s just a point but I rely on that little guy a lot. (For those playing at home… I am doing an older WW system. With the new system, I would have something like 44 points which is a lot of food.)

Breakfast: Right after church, walked in to our icebox of a house and changed in to sweats (which are slowly becoming the only pants that fit. My jeans fall off a lot now. I really need to reach that 50 mile goal so I can get some new jeans!) Anyways, I knew lunch was going to take a while so we both had a bowl of cereal. I had Kashi Autumn Wheat with a 1/2 cup of milk which was 4 points. I really need to dedicate more points to milk. I miss it in my diet.

Lunch: Like I just said, lunch was going to take a while because we had Turkey Burgers (hooray for delicious things!)  The fries were too crispy because I didn’t cut the potatoes thick enough, but I did remember to add the olive oil unlike last time! For a 9 point meal, it was awesome.

Exercise: This afternoon, Matt and I played some racquetball. Again, I was on the doorstep of winning twice and I couldn’t pull out the W. I don’t know if I have some mental block or something but it has always seemed like anytime something got close, I would crack under the pressure. It’s really annoying because I just kept making simple mistakes like missing the ball on easy shots. I need to work on that. Anyways, that was around 16 exercise points.

Dinner: When Megan first woke up this morning, she prepped and put all the ingredients for Slow-Cook Tuscan Sausage and Bean Soup in the crock pot. So after I got home from the racquetball bloodbath, I got to finally enjoy the soup that was driving my nostrils crazy all day. It was fantastic and perfect for such a cold day! With 2 pieces of bread and 2 bowls of soup it was a 10 point dinner was was totally worth it. Oh, and if my wife couldn’t get any awesome-er, she took these pictures for me to save time. She’s a keeper.

Snack: After our men’s bible study tonight, we went to Moe’s, this sub par burrito place. Although their burritos suck, they have an awesome salsa bar. I ate about a 1/3 of a basket of chips, which was around 6 points (a whole basket, like what comes with chips and queso, is bad… like 750 calories and 40 grams of fat bad.) Instead of eating any queso, I attacked their salsa bar like a Tasmanian Devil on a rotting wombat carcass. 9 cups of salsa later, I was ready to bounce. Then we played football and I ran around and at one point: threw off my shirt… in 40 degree weather. I’m awesome like that.

So for the first day in the new WW bracket I did pretty well. I came to a total of 29 points which works because I might be a little off on the chips. Regardless, a good start to what I hope will be a good week. Speaking of which, does any body have any tips for running on the beach? See ya tomorrow.

Day 51: Weekend Edition

After the week from the Hot Place (and I don’t mean Mexico) we decided to be good ol’ homebodies and took it easy today. We slept in and woke up to another gorgeous fall day in Tallahassee. It’s a shame that it’s going to get back up in to the 80’s next week but after living in Abilene, where the weather changed drastically on a regular basis, for 5 years, I’m pretty use to it.

Breakfast Part I: When I first woke up, I had a cup of coffee and a waffle with a little peanut butter (4 points.)

Brunch/Breakfast Part II???: Last night we ate Godzilla, this morning, we tag-teamed Omeletsauras. Lately I’ve been honing my breakfast making skills and after today, I have achieved (or given myself) Breakfast Gangsta status with this bad boy. 4 eggs, 1/2 an onion, 1 jalapeno, 1/2 cup of cheese and a heaping serving of ham lunch meat that needed to be eaten. It was beautifully delicious. I also added some cayenne pepper which gives it a little heat and plus is suppose to be good for you. So 1/2 of this bad boy was 9 points which it depressing because I use to eat an omelet this big on my own. In fact, looking back on my old eating habits, it seems like I was unintentionally training to be on Man vs. Food or something. Anyways…

Dinner: We love burritos, but burrito don’t like us… points wise. So we are trying to find some sort of alternative and I think we’ve found it. A while back Megan found this cilantro rice recipe so we tried to make our own burritos then and it was great, so tonight we decided just to make cilantro rice and black bean burritos. They were amazing. One thing that made it doable points wise is that we found these low fat low carb tortillas that are made by La Banderita that are 1 point a tortilla!!! Legit. So a burrito with: rice, black beans, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole was about 6.5 points which is a ton better than one burrito at your average burrito joint. I had 3. Yes, 3. Overkill? A delicious heck yes. I had a total of 19 points for dinner, which yes, is a lot, but was still better than last week at Chipotle.

So today I’m at 32 points which isn’t too shabby since I’m stuffed and everything we ate today was just great. This week was a little screwy with my 40 point Thursday and yesterday’s Godzilla, but during past stressful weeks, I would have eaten a lot more and would have gone to Jack-in-the-Box late at night and have consumed loads of sodium and calories. That’s the big difference between now and then: I have minimized the compulsive eating. Consequently, I’m shedding off weight like a boss. Tomorrow is weigh in day. Bring it. See ya tomorrow.

Day 5-0

Day 50. Wow. So stoked.

It feels like Friday sucked up all the good for the week which explains why this week pretty much sucked but today was so awesome. I woke up this morning to a beautiful November morning so Megan and I put on our robes and drank coffee on the porch. Definitely a great way to start off the day.

Lunch: Before my group meeting, I made a ham sandwich (5 points) and Campbells Chicken Noodle soup (5 points) because I knew things were going to get bonkers this afternoon. Nothing too exciting.

Exercise: So after my group meeting, I went to Leach to getting some running in for NovGTD. I usually do around 4 miles or so, but today I wanted to hoof it. I got to 4 miles and when I was done with the cool down, I was at 4.62 miles, so I turned the treadmill back on and ran the extra .38 miles to get up to 5 miles. I was really stoked because now I know I can push myself like that. So I burned 980 calories and 18 exercise points.

Dinner: We went to eat dinner with some people from Megan’s department at Super Perros (yes, that means Super Dogs,) the Colombian restaurant in Tallahassee. We had to sit outside and it was cold and windy… and I was wearing shorts. The food made up for it ten fold. Megan and I split Godzilla (no really, that’s what it is called!) It’s a massive fried tortilla stuff with chicken, peppers, and other delicious ingredients. It also came with salad and rice, plantains, and tostones which are fried banana chips. It was more than enough food for the both of us so I’m really glad we split.

So today, I’m not really sure how things added up so I’m going to do my standard thing and count it as my day and my remaining weekly points. Overkill? Most likely, but awe well. I’ll be good tomorrow… or pending on your timezone: today. See ya tomorrow (or today.)

Day 49

Mr. Fujita: “So… Sumo Wrestler?”
Doug Heffernan: “Nope, just fat.”
Gotta Love King of Queens

Thursdays are usually my favorite days of the week, but the combination of the cloudy weather and a ridiculous class assignment that took an hour longer than it should have, it’s been kind of a bonkers day. Thank God for Friday right? It hasn’t been all bad though. It is approaching cold (like the lows in the 30’s) and we got an awesome desk off of Craigslist this afternoon! It was a beast to get it in the house, but it looks great in our extra room. Speaking of weather, it didn’t cool off until this afternoon so it was humid and in the 60’s this morning and there was a guy on the bus with shorts and a leather bomber jacket. Seriously? I’m not usually one to make fashion critiques (I leave that to my friend Leah and her awesome site)  but my bus just has such a hodgepodge of poorly dressed weirdos.

Breakfast: This muggy morning, I was in a rush so I made a wafflewich. I’m glad I ate something hearty like that because I didn’t have lunch until around 2:30, but more about that in a bit. It was 8 points and delish.(Sorry, not enough time for a pic.)

Lunch: So I have a noon class and we had an assignment that was due by 8:00 tonight so a couple of us just stuck around to finish it. Easy said than done. It should have taken like 20 minutes and it ended up taking an hour (#Fail.) Anyways, like I said earlier, I didn’t get to have lunch until around 2:30. I had a bowl of Campbells Chicken Noodle, which was 5 points, had a honeycrisp apple (2 points,) and 2 servings of almonds (2 points.) Apples and almonds is such an awesome combo. (Sorry, no pic again.)

Dinner: Like I said earlier, we found a desk on Craigslist. Luckily, our friend Lynn had a SUV so we could pick up and our other friend (we don’t just have 2 friends for the record) Justin helped us move it in to the house. For their help, we bought them dinner at College Night at Chick-Fil-A. As always, I had the 8 piece nugget (6 points,) medium fry (9 points,) and two BBQ packets (2 points.) I really think the medium fries are the worst deal because the large fry is 10 points so why not get a lot more fries for 1 more point.

After Dinner Snacking: Since dinner, I had an awesome organic orange (1 point) these dry Kashi Autumn Wheat cereal biscuits (3 points) and during Big Bang Theory (such an awesome show) I made some popcorn (4 points.) I’m eating like I actually worked out today but sadly I haven’t. I wanted to go run but I ran out of time. Lame.
Somehow, I’m at 40 points. What the crap!?! The last time I ate 40 points I went to a wing place and Outback!!! What’s the deal!!!! They haven’t been that bad of things but awe well. Just kind of describers the off day it has been.

Day 48

Watching Silence of the Lambs right now. Such an awesome movie. So many awkward direct-on shots. Imagine if the Coen Brothers would have directed it. Have you seen the trailer for the Coen Brothers True Grit remake? SO STOKED!!! I didn’t bring up Silence of the Lambs because I ate someone’s liver fava beans and a nice Chianti [insert weird sucking noise here] I just think everyone should see it at least once (maybe on TV.)

Breakfast: I had a group project meeting in the library this morning so I went up early and hit up the Starbucks in the library. (I think I am developing an addiction.) I had my Venti Iced Chai Latte (6 points) but there wasn’t enough ice  in it so it was lukewarm the whole time. We bought these Cascadain Farms chewy granola bars since they were BOGO at Publix so I brought one to thwart the temptation of a pastry. The Chocolate Mocha Almond ones are only 2 points but I quit eating it in like 2 bites. I was feeling it and it was a weird consistency.

Lunch: Megan got a text message from Pita Pit for a but one get one for a buck so us, being the frugal frankies that we are, we went there. I tried the Chicken Crave with: spinach, cucumber, onions, and hot mustard. It was really good, but the service is always mediocre which puts a bad taste in my mouth. Anyways the Pita was 9 points which was good for how filling it was.

Exercise: Got back to the Wednesday routine of playing Matt in racquetball. How did it go you ask? Let’s just say he read my goal list. The first two games I was doing well and then I got dominated. It was a blast and 16 exercise points of awesomeness. Matt: this is not over yet!

Dinner: We bought some Morning Star Veggie Tomato and Basil Pizza burgers to try something new and to have a easy-to-make dinner around. I’m not really sure how to describe how they taste (think pizza rolls in patty form with no meat) but they were great and really hit the spot. Two burgers with buns were only 8 points and I had a 6 point serving of tortilla chips. Also, Megan thinks that these patties would be good as a substitute for chicken parmigiana. We will definitely have to try that soon. (Has anyone ever tried that?)

After dinner, I wasn’t feeling well, so I had a 1 point orange, took a bath and drank a lot of water. During Modern Family, I think my continuous laughter kicked whatever was going on. I think it also helped that I had half of a waffle which (4 points.) Between the running and racquetballing, I really need to get my water intake up and probably avoid soda. Does that sound about right?

So anyways, I’m at 34 points and with the exercise points I’m doing alright. With all this Fall weather, I think it’s time to break out the teapot. I love fall. Oh yeah, this morning, when it was a mere 61 degrees, I saw a guy in a hard shell North Face jacket like he was about to go climb Everest or something. Hooray for overkill. Silly Floridians. See ya tomorrow.

Day 47: Hooray for Goals!

Well… the Rangers lost. It was an amazing season and I was proud to be at this years Opening Day. Even then you could tell that something was going to be special about this season. Well, all I can say is: we beat the Yankees, and that is what matters. There’s 149 more days until the start of next season, and it will be exciting to see what will happen then.

Anyways [wiping away the tears] let’s talk about food shall we?

Breakfast: This morning, I tried my hand at scrambled eggs (which I haven’t done since Day 1) and they turned out pretty well. I added 1/2 a cup of skim milk to them instead of using fat free half and half which I think was better because that way you can use more milk to get them fluffier. I also didn’t use a square pan which always made them funky looking so I think that helped as well. The bacon was awesome as always, a little burnt but that’s how we like it. 4.5 points and the 3 slices of bacon was only 2 points.

Lunch: After falling in love with the Smart Ones Chicken Enchilada Suiza, I decided to give the Lean Cuisine version a shot and it didn’t disappoint. Although the portion size was smaller, the queso actually tasted like a real cheese sauce! Like I said, the portion size was smaller (it was only 4 points) so I added some salsa and 3 points of chips. For dessert I had a 1 point orange.

Exercise: I went over to Leach this afternoon to start on my November Go The Distance Challenge (more on that in a bit.) I haven’t been on the treadmill in a while but it felt great to get back on there and run like the dickens (well… kinda.) I went 4.27 miles in 65 minutes and burned 863 calories, a high calorie burn is like the best thing about being overweight. From that, I racked in around 17 points which is pretty redonkulous.

Snack: Immediately after I was done I ate the Kashi cereal bar that I had packed in my bag which was a life saver because I was on empty. Since a 2 point cereal bar can only get you so far, Megan and I hit up Hiro’s frozen yogurt. The girl who always asks about the blog was working and we talked a little bit which is always nice to meet your fans (just kidding.) My workout shorts didn’t have pockets so I didn’t bring in my phone, but believe when I say it was the most beautiful cup of FroYo ever. I almost caved and topped it with some oreo’s (my blood sugar must have been low) but I went for the broken up sugar cone and strawberries instead. It was 6 points of happiness.

Dinner: While Megan took a well deserved nap, I made Uncle Jim’s vegetarian chili. It was particularly good, maybe it was because of the Fall weather or something like that, I don’t know. Anyways, 2 cups of chili is 5 points and we added 2 points of cheese. We both had the points so we said “why not?” It really hit the spot and I’m pretty full.

Goal Time!

So I’ve been wanting to set some goals for myself for this month because although I had a really good October, I kept feeling like I was starting to get in a bit of a rut, which I’m sure is common for people who are making a lifestyle change. I think it’s because I have these “ultimate” goals that are going to take time so if you don’t have little things to celebrate along the way, it’s easy to lose sight and veer off in to a ditch of gravy (what am I talking about???) So here are a few I have thought about and I plan on trying to accomplish on this eleventh month of two thousand ten (I have no clue why I just wrote that out.) So here. We. Go…

50 miles for NovGTD: Like I was mentioning earlier, Fat Girl vs. The World has on her site something called Going the Distance (GTD) where you commit to going a certain distance (50 miles) on a certain medium (in my case, treadmill/ground.) You report every week how many miles you’ve gone and if you achieve your goal, you reward yourself with a non-food reward (a much needed new pair of jeans.) So today I went 4.27 miles so I have 45.73 miles to go.
Beat my 5k time: we are doing the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day and I want to beat my last time of 39:32. I have to really hit it hard the next few weeks to make this one.
Workout 4 times a week
Get up early enough to workout 4 times a week
Beat Matt in Racquetball at least 3 times: Matt: it’s on.
Finish HP and the Goblet of Fire: I’m about half way through, but I stopped because I was getting sick of Harry in this book. Maybe it’s because Prisoner of Azkaban was just so good and Goblet of Fire… well… isn’t.
Successfully do No Shave November (I look like a naked mole rat right now) Brian Wilson Beard of Death here I come.
Finish my HM research paper by Dec 1: It’s due on the 3rd so if it’s not done, it better be close by then!
Read my bible more during the week
Not gain any weight the week of Thanksgiving: This might be the hardest one on this list. I freakin’ love Thanksgiving and so does my gluttonous side. The temptation to gorge is going to be beastly, but I’m going to do my best to do it.
Break the 320 mark: With all this running and racquetballing, I think I can do it.
Overall, I think I’ll be able to get through this list but it won’t be easy. I’ll still be happy if I get like 90% of it done so we will see.
So right now, I’m at 29.5 points but I still have those exercise point so I’ll eat something a little later, just not too late. See ya tomorrow.

Day 46 Special Monday Weigh In Edition

November? Seriously? Holy Schnikes.

So today is a rare Monday weigh in (I say rare, but it’s going to happen again in a few weeks.) But here we go… I lost 2.6 pounds this week! I’m bittersweetly stoked about it because I’m .6 away from the 30 pound mark. I was there when I weighed in on Thursday but then I gained .4 pound back at Disney World. Awe well, I’m going to lose more and then some this week (that’s the plan at least!!!!) So I am at 327.6 which is still really awesome since a month and a half ago I was approaching 360. As of now, I’m 86.8 pounds away from my 100 pound goal. I’m getting there slowly but surely!

Lunch: Like most Mondays, I accidentally slept in (I love having an afternoon class) and I met up with Megan at Subway for some lunch. I haven’t been to subway since we moved here (so since July. Before the weight loss we didn’t have a reason to go to Subway because they have Jimmy John’s here which is better subs but worse for you.) Anyways, I had the 6″ black forrest ham with lite mayo, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and vinegar. This is Megan’s favorite sub and she put me on to it last year. It’s now my favorite non-meatball sub at Subway :). They also have a really nice sandwich builder on their website (if you can find it) and the sub was 8 points so not too bad for a light lunch.

Snack: We kept with our Monday afternoon tradition and went to Starbucks to study/write a blog/act like we’re cool because we are college students at a Starbucks/get closer to becoming mayor of the Tennessee St. Starbucks/listen to the most painful job interview a table over. I’m been doing research for a research paper for my Hispanic Marketing class about Hispanic usage of social media (if you are Hispanic and have a blog/facebook/twitter/myspace account (just kidding about the last one) let’s talk.) Anyways, I had the usual Iced Chai Tea latte (the girl who works there knew what I was going to get which sometimes is good but it was definitely bad that back in the day this lady at Taco Bueno knew my name and what I got) but this time I got a venti because I needed the caffeine, but I didn’t need the sugar. Tough trade off. The venti was 6 points which is only 2 points more than the grande. Hi Ho. (Sorry for all of the parentheses and slashes in this paragraph. I have no clue what came over me.)

Dinner: The thing I hate about Mondays is that we don’t get home sometimes until after 7 like today after my class we did our grocery shopping for the week. Luckily we went to Publix which takes an eighth of the time compared to Wal-Mart. Regardless, we got home around 7:30 and I started to make the super awesome turkey burgers. The fries take about an hour so when I was prepping them I had a Publix Honey Almond yogurt which wasn’t bad but it was 2 points. So the burgers (6 points) turned out really well which made me happy because the last time I made them they kept falling apart. The fries were okay, except you are suppose to coat them in olive oil and I didn’t so they ended up being tasty shards of glass. Without the oil they were only 2 points.

So right now, I’m at 24 points so I think I’m going to eat some fruit and other healthy things to try to offset this weekend. I really need to go hit up the gym. I keep talking about and it needs to happen. What’s your favorite thing to do at the gym? See ya tomorrow.

Day 45 \Halloween Edition//

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

I hope everyone is having a great Halloween (hopefully not eating too much candy ;-)) We finally made it back to Tallahassee after an awesome weekend of Disney adventure. This morning we went to Animal Kingdom, rode Expedition Everest 3 times, and then window shopped at Downtown Disney.

According to the pedometer, we walked 4.3 miles which which leads me to believe that our estimation yesterday might have been a little under because we didn’t walk near as much today and Animal Kingdom is a lot smaller than Magic Kingdom or Epcot. I’m not really sure how to calculated that in to exercise points, but I bet it was pretty good.

Breakfast: I just made a turkey sandwich which was 4 points. Nothing too exciting, but by then I was started to get sick of breakfast bars.

Lunch/Snack: After going to the Animal Kingdom bird show and seeing three different kinds of owls (including a great horned owl that flew 6 inches over my head, I love owls by the way) we found a shaded area and ate our sack lunches. I had another 4 point sandwich, a bag of carrots (freebies) and for a snack a little later I had 3 points worth of almonds. When we left the park I had a Kashi 2 point cereal bar which are good but not super filling.

Dinner: I never know what to say when I have been bad points wise but the meal was so delicious that I don’t really care. Is that bad? Anyways, since man cannot live by bread, turkey and mustard alone, we stopped in Gainesville (enemy territory) and somehow found a Chipotle, the best burrito place on earth. We wanted to do something healthy so of course we did the exact opposite. I had the burrito bowl (bowl with no tortilla) with: chicken, lime cilantro rice, black beans, roasted corn salsa, sour cream (dumb choice), and cheese, then Megan and I split chips and guacamole. The thing is, without the cheese and sour cream, it would be a pretty healthy bowl, but the two really bad things is what ties it together. It was fantastic, but I caught myself going into shoveling mode which I haven’t done in a long time and is what has gotten me in to this mess. Luckily I caught myself and slowed my chewing down a bit. So anyways the burrito bowl was 17 points, half of the chips was 6 points and half of the container of guac was somehow 1 point. Like I said earlier, I feel bad about it, but I feel don’t feel guilty about it if that makes any sense. I’m not going to let myself get down about it because that can be dangerous and can lead in to more gorging so I’ll just stay good the rest of the week.

Today, I totaled out at 36 points which is 3 points over but I still know better than to eat 24 points in one meal. Awe well, c’est la vie right? Like I said yesterday, no weigh in today so we will tomorrow. I was naughty and weighed on Thursday and I’m hoping that number hasn’t gone up. I guess we will find out soon enough. See ya tomorrow.
