Day 317: Friday Funstuff!

It’s Friday, and that’s awesome. That’s all that needs to be said.

Breakfast: I went to work a little later so I actually had time to make some breakfast. I made a Denver-like omelet sandwich. It was really just a fried egg, two slices of ham and some cheese on two pieces of toast. So awesome. I also had some spicy ketchup for dipping. Again, so awesome.

Lunch: I didn’t get to have lunch until around 1:30 (I was super starving with a capital famished) but I had a sandwich, some cocoa dusted almonds and a banana. It was pretty awesome. Sack lunches FTW!

SAWS!!! I was going to do Insanity in the morning, but sleeping is way more enticing (as it always is) so I went straight to it after I got off work. Today was cardio recovery which sounds not as bad (which is what I thought) but it was more like super yoga. Stretching is so painful sometimes, and today was one of them. It felt good to get deep in to those stretches though. It’s one of those things if you just stick with the painful stretch a little past the pain, it feels fantastic!!! And as you can see, I was sweaty. SAWS!

Dinner: Megan made this awesome curry chicken with basmati rice. It was fantastic. It was probably the best Indian whatever it was (I think it was curry but I’m not sure.) I have ever had.

Dessert: Tonight we had a dessert and coffee night with the young professionals from our church. Everyone brought delicious awesome treats including a cookie cake from Great American Cookie that had the word “legit” frosted across it. Luckily, our great friend Sharon brought some fruit (she asked if that counted as a dessert and I was like TOTALLY!) so that really helped me with all the sweets. I did steal some caramel corn and these low fat cranberry bars Megan had made, but overall I held my own.

So today wasn’t that bad. It helps when you have a goal in mind for your weigh to keep on track. I’m shooting for an awesome Saturday. See ya tomorrow.

Day 316: Thursday Stuff

What it is yo?

Today, it’s been kind of hard not to jump on the scale and see where I’m at. Thursday is usually my day to take a sneak peak, but my trusty post-it note that said “DON’T STEP ON ME!” kept me at bay. The power of the post-it notes people, the power of post-it notes.

Breakfast: I went with the classic Wafflewich for breakfast. I was going to make bacon and eggs, but I just ran out of time. (Am I the only one where time speeds up 10x faster? So much fun!)

Snack: I was starving at work so I had a Nature Valley granola bar. Awesome as always.

Lunch: After work, Megan and I went over to Tijuana Flats since we had a BOGO coupon. It’s been a long time since we had been there so it was good to go back. They have a light option menu so I had the under 500 calorie chargrilled chicken burrito. We also got an order of chips and salsa (mine wasn’t suppose to come with chips but they gave me some anyway. Holla!) and it was the size of a bag of chips so we used them for dinner. For dessert I had some cherries.

SAWS!!!: I am back on the Insanity wagon since Leach is closed and today was a doozey! I did the Plyometric Cardio Circuit today. I think it’s my least favorite one (who am I kidding? I hate all of them.) but that’s probably because it pushes me the hardest. I’m not going to lie and say Insanity is easy, but man do I feel awesome after I’m done which makes it all totally worth it!

Dinner: I had a taco salad with leftover taco meat from last night, chips from lunch and some guacamole. It was freakin’ fantastic! There is nothing like eating a healthy and hearty dinner after a hard workout.

So today was a pretty good. I feel great, and I’m pumped to get through the rest of the week. See ya tomorrow.

(P.S. Have you checked out my Fotographing Fat Kid Facebook site?)

Day 314: Tuesday!

What is up my dear reader!?! Thanks for being awesome and take the time to read about what I eat every day and for your awesome support. I couldn’t have done it without you! Now, where was I?

Breakfast: I had some Kashi Awesomeness for breakfast. Nothing too exciting, but delicious nonetheless. 4 points

Lunch: Today was the Communicators’ Network luncheon at FSU so I brought my lunch. I had ham sandwich with some Baked Lays chips (which are meh) and a Nature Valley granola bar. It was a pretty awesome lunch! 9 points

Snacks: After work, I had some dried multigrain cheerios and then a little later, while we were out and shopping for stuff including a new bow tie (I’ll premier the one I bought today tomorrow on Wordless Wednesday!) I had a Clif Bar. (Sorry for sentencesaurus right then. I type out my sentences like I’m talking which results in run-on craziness.) A total of 7 points.

Dinner: For dinner, Megan made the fantastically awesome Uncle Jim’s Famous Veggie Chili. As always, it was delicious. The first bowl was over some instant brown rice and then the second bowl was over tortilla chips. Pretty awesome. 9 points

Dessert: Instead of having something chocolatey for dessert, I had some cherries for dessert. It was a nice change of dessert. I didn’t feel like I overdid it. I also had a cup of orange juice for 2 points.

So I got to 31 points so a point over isn’t too bad. I was going to work out today but I ran out of time so I’m going to work double tomorrow.

EXCITING NEWS YO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Ahem*

It is my pleasure to announce that I have created my own Facebook site for my alias The Fotographing Fat Kid. This site will not only be a place for all things FFK, but it will also be a place for tips on healthy living, eating, and how to be overall awesome. If you haven’t already, head on over there and Like my page if you’ll be so kind! See ya tomorrow.

Day 313: Monday!

No case of the Mondays for this kid…

So today was the day of getting back on track… again and I think it went pretty well! My issue is that I will weigh myself on Thursday, and then screw myself over for the rest of the week because I will either be content and then splurge or then not eat enough. So instead of setting myself up for a metal block like that this week (2.6 away…) I gave myself a reminder that a midweek weigh in is going to be a no-no. So we will see how that goes.

Breakfast: I just had two waffles with some peanut butter. I was going to bring a snack to work, but I forgot it so I was starving!!! No bueno. 5.5 points

Lunch: Since we were having to run for some errands around town, we went over to Mellow Mushroom. I had a slice of cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and a tossed salad with their awesome esperanza house dressing. I know I know, two days of delicious pizza? I have such a hard life. Anyways, lunch was 8 points. The dressing was more calories than the slice alone, so I’ll have to try something different next time. It was pretty awesome all over though!

Snack: I had a Nature Valley Granola bar pack for 4 points while reading Harry Potter. So close!!!!

Dinner: We were in a bit of a rush, so I had a Cafe Steamers at home. A steady of frozen foods is not ideal, but meals like that are nice to have around the house to avoid eating out. Anyways, I had the Sesame Chicken which was good, but even better with a little mustard. Yumtastic. I also had a banana baby. 8 points.

Snack: We went with our friends the Wards and our friend Andrea the Wolf to go see Crazy, Stupid, Love (which was awesome) and then we went for some fro yo at Nuberri. They had this awesome swirl of cake batter and cookies n’ cream which was soooooo delicious. It was a pretty awesome treat, but no more dessert for a while. 6ish points.

So today I got to about 31.5 points which will work. As you can see, I’m back to counting points, but I’m still trying to figure out what works best for me. Anyways, I didn’t work out because I calf was still strained, but it is feeling a little so I might do something light tomorrow and then get back in to Insanity on Wednesday. I don’t know, we’ll just see. See ya tomorrow.

Day 312: A Weigh In Wasssup

WAAAAASSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPP!!!!!

(Yes, this is 1998)

How are you? I know it’s been a while since we’ve talked and for that I apologize I suck. So I was secretly hoping that this was the week that I broke the 100 pound mark. Sadly, I didn’t make it, but I got closer than I have ever been! This week I lost 2.2 pounds which is soooo close! As of know I have lost a total of 97.4 pounds since September of last year, not too shabby I guess. Anyways, I have finally broke in to the 250’s! Barely, but still pretty cool.

Breakfast: I just had a bowl of Kashi Awesomeness. A classic.

Lunch: After church a bunch of us went over to Momo’s for pizza the size of a European country. Since there were so many of us, they set up a buffet for us so it was $7 which included drinks and a tip. Pretty awesome. I held myself to four slices of pizza: a slice of pepperoni, a slice of bacon and two slices of cheese with mushroom. I did splurge a little, but as you’ll see from the rest of the post.

Snack: I had a small cookie that the awesome Emily Ward made last night. So good.

Dinner: I just had some leftover veggie spaghetti. Not too bad, but not super filling.

Snack: I had a frozen banana. Sweet action.

So it was a pretty good day, but I’m still pretty hungry. I’m not sure what I’ll do about that, but it will probably involve fruit or something low cal. I had an issue with counting calories last week so I’m going to work on that. Also, Leach is going to be closed for two weeks (so lame!!!!) so I’m going to pick back up on Insanity tomorrow, pending on whether my calf isn’t still cramped up. (My calf has been cramped up since basketball in the sauna known as Florida yesterday.) So I’m only 2.6 pounds away… time to drop some weight. Like. A. Boss. See ya tomorrow.

Day 309: Thursday Things

Sup!

So far it’s been a pretty good week. I’ve been keeping an eye on what I’ve been eating and I’ve been sweating like a sinner in church while working out (Yes, I took that simile from The Golden Girls. RIP Blanche) so I’m hoping that it will reflect on the scale.

Breakfast: Stuck with the classic Wafflewich. I’ve been trying to get myself to drink a big glass of water every morning before my cup of coffee because it’s suppose to be good for your metabolism. Has anyone else heard that?

Lunch: Ever since we’ve lived in Tallahassee, we’ve been wanting to try this BBQ place that I drive by ever morning called Jim and Milt’s BBQ. Today, Megan and I were jonesin’ for some smoked chicken so we decided to give it a shot. I had the 1/4 white meat chicken with a tossed salad with honey mustard and some baked beans. By the time I got through the salad and the beans, I barely tore in to my chicken even though I wanted to go nuts on it. Instead, I listened to my body and ate what I could and then asked for a to go box.

Snack: I had some Rainier Cherries and a Granny Smith Apple for a snack. It was awesome.

Workout: We went to Leach for some SAWS awesomeness. I got on the spin bike and did a 15 minute cycle and then got on the stairmaster for 15 minutes. I burned around 350 calories and it was pretty awesome.

Dinner: For dinner, we cooked up some brown rice and black beans and had the rest of our chicken from dinner. It was a odd goulash of deliciousness, but it worked. For dessert, I had a banana babies chocolate banana (there’s always money in the banana stand.)

Snack: I just had some multi grain cherrios and some hot tea.

So today was a pretty good day. I stayed within my calories and then ate my workout calories. Good day. See you tomorrow.

Day 307: Tuesday Tickling

(I’m running out of titles.)

How’s it going everyone? So my stomach is in the process of shrinking back to its normal size after a vacation of crazy nomage. It’s been hard not to just graze on anything every chance I get so the temptation has been a little rough, but hopefully that will subside by the end of the week. I just need to get to the mindset of “no silly brain! You don’t need that extra taco or extra [fill in the blank with something delicious.]” We’ll just see how that goes. Almost every time I’ve put a time frame on my weight loss I have missed the mark so I’m apprehensive to even talk about this. But what the heck… So in 6 weeks, it will be my anniversary of my weight loss journey. It’s been an amazing escapade so far, and I’m only 4.8 pounds away from breaking the 100 pound mark. I know that a time frame doesn’t matter, but it would be freaking awesome to have lost 100 pounds in under a year because I set out for that goal in high school and most people said I probably couldn’t do it. I don’t what to loose it out of spite, I just think it would be pretty tight. So we will just see, but that means I need to buckle down and drop some pounds yo!

Breakfast: Wafflewich. Enough said.

Lunch: I had a Kung Pao Healthy Choice Steamers for lunch and they are usually pretty awesome. It was really good with a little sweet and spicy mustard. Yumtastic.

Snack: I was over at Starbucks for the afternoon to get stuff done (which actually turned in to going crazy on Spotify and being a Facebook prostitute, but that’s neither here nor there) so I had a NV granola bar and a skinny caramel macchiato. It was the best Starbucks drink I’ve had in a long time, so I was worried that it was no skinny. I’ll give Starbucks the benefit of the doubt.

Dinner: Tonight, we made tacos! Ole! I had two soft tacos and then had some nachos with the left over black beans. Pretty awesome.

SAWS!!!: After dinner, we went over to Leach for some SAWSness. I did the total body program on the elliptical for 40 minutes. It was a really good sweat. I’m a little gunshy to lift weights because my left arm felt really strained after just doing one machine on the other day. I didn’t have any of these pains during Insanity, but it came back in the gym. I’m going to try doing some free weights tomorrow and we will just see how that goes.

Snack: I had a small bowl of honey nut cheerios (not clumps of hair involved) and some Rainier and Bing cherries. I’ve never had a Rainier cherry and all I have to say it WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL OF MY LIFE DELICIOUSNESS!?!

So today was pretty good. I haven’t added everything up yet, but I think I’ll be okay since I worked out. See ya tomorrow.

Day 306: Moooooooonday

Greetings!

Today was the first day of getting back on the bandwagon… again and I think it went really well. When I first went in to this weight loss ordeal, I thought “I’ll never fall off, I’ll never fall off, I’ll never fall off” but you can’t go in with that mindset. Now, I’m in the mindset of Chumbawamba: “I get knocked down, but I get up again, you never gonna keep me down!” The secret to the success of weight loss is sheer perseverance and a tenacity to keep your chin up (out of the plate of the chocolate covered french fries) even when you don’t want to get off the couch to go work out or when that second piece of cheesecake is calling your name. Anyways, food time.

Breakfast: I had a fantastic wafflewich with a beautifully delicious cup of coffee. What an awesome breakfast! (Seriously, if you haven’t tried to make one, do it tomorrow!)

Lunch: Before I went to work, Megan and I went over to Jimmy John’s for lunch. I had the Beach Club with half the mayo. It was as awesome as always.

Snack: Before I went to work out I had a Clif Bar. So good.

SAWS!!! After work, Megan and I went over to Leach for some SAWS Awesomeness. I did a few arm exercises and then did a 30 minute fat burn program on the elliptical. I burned around 500 calories today. I can’t wait to work out tomorrow! MEOW!

Dinner: Tonight, I had the urge to fire up the grill so we made some turkey burgers! I took the recipe from the WW cookbook, it’s a classic. Megan also made some sweet potatoes slices. We also used onion bagels for the buns. Pretty awesome.

Snack: Megan popped some popcorn on the element. Have you ever tried that? Sooooo good.

So today was a step in the right direction. I’m going to keep it up! See ya tomorrow.
